Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
MINOXIDIL/ROGAINE
Q. How do I know the product has not been tampered with?
A. Firstly, the box will come sealed. However, if you purchase the individual vials, they have a seal which is tamper proof. As you twist open the cap, hold it to your ear and listen for the sound of the seal breaking. This is a guarantee that the minoxidil has not been tampered with.
Q. How long does it take before Minoxidil starts to work?
A. This will vary. Clinical studies have shown that regrowth can occur as early as 8 weeks but it can take up to 16 weeks to see results. Just bear in mind, results will vary from person to person, so you just need to be patient. When you first start using, you may notice a temporary increase in hair loss in the first 2–6 weeks. This is entirely normal and is actually good news – it shows that your hair is shifting from a dormant phase to an active growing phase.
Q. How long should I leave the solution on my hair/beard?
A. It is recommended to be absorbed by the skin for a minimum of 2 hours. For best results leave on for 3-4 hours. Also note that minoxidil will wash off if you get rained on or go swimming; allow the mixture to dry completely first.
Q. Can I use Minoxidil on a receding hair line?
A. Yes you can use Minoxidil if you are receding as this is typically the early stage of hereditary hair loss. You should start using minoxidil as soon as you notice signs of thinning hair/ a receding hairline.
Q. How long will a bottle or can last?
A. Based on the recommended dose of 10ml, approximately 30 days. As you near the end of one bottle/can, make sure you buy your next pack so you don't miss any applications.
Q. If I use more often will it work faster?
A. No. Your hair won't grow any faster or better if you apply it more than twice a day and you increase the risk of side effects.
Q. How long should I keep using Minoxidil?
A. You should keep using for as long as you want to maintain the effect. If you stop using the product, you will lose the hair that grew back and will most likely revert to the previous pattern of hair loss.
Q. What if I accidentally spill some on my face or body?
A. Don’t panic, just wash it off with lots of cool water straight away, there’s nothing to worry about.
Q. What should I look for as a sign that Minoxidil is working?
A. You should begin to notice that you're losing much less hair. You might even begin to see new hair growth that may be soft, downy and lighter in colour than the rest of your hair. Over time, this hair should thicken and blend in with the rest of your crop.
Q. What happens if I stop using Minoxidil ? Will I keep my new hair?
A. If treatment is stopped, you will not only lose the hair that grew back, but you will most likely revert to your previous pattern of hair loss.
Q. Are there any side effects when using minoxidil?
A. The most common side effect in most cases is drying of the skin. It is recommended that one applies moisturizer 2-3 hours after the minoxidil has already been absorbed by the skin.
Q. Liquid vs Foam which one is better?
A. It Comes Down to Preference. There’s no reason you can’t try both the liquid and foam to see which one you like better! Buy a bottle of each and conduct your own little experiment.
